hello everyone! I really feel for anyone who owns an illegal breed as my Czech Shepherd Akayla (thats her name) was considered illegal to recently. Akayla was given to me by a friend who rescued her from a stupid owner who was going to have her put down. She is the most wonderful dog and doesnt have a dangerous bone in her body. She is always looking out for everyone she meets even fellow dogs. I could just go on and on about her but Im sure you guys all know that owning a wolfdog is a unique experience. I am glad to say that wolfdogs are now allowed into Australia as long as the animal is five generations removed from a pure wolf. This is a better statement because the only way to work out percentage is looking at the paper work not the dog. My Akayla has about 40% wolfblood but looks like a GSD only a trained eye can tell the difference. I believe a CW dog is a breed not a hybrid so I dont understand why it would be looked at any different. ALL dogs DNA looks much the same as the wolves DNA. I mean there all that controvery over weither dogs should be classed seperately as Canis Familliarus or as just a sub species of wolf. So if thats true are they going to ban all breeds of dog or just the large breeds? Sorry I carry on so much Im just so passionate about this subject. Tell me where to sign your patition and I will.
