Hello to all you Czw owners in the UK,Paul and Mandy, Conor, and the other owners of Lynx's pups. I just thought it would be good to hear from you about your experiences with your new pups. How about telling us how you are getting along and have there been any unexpected suprises along the way, maybe with behavior or socialising etc.

Hello Paul,
This is one suprise which nobody expected, I had read on some web pages that czechs and saarloos did need a license issued by defra but when you brought Lynx into the UK and registered pups I thought the information I had read was wrong or ruling had changed. Is there anything that all of us can do to help ? Be assured you have everyones backing. JP |

hi to the uk owners, i live in the same village as connor and hektor. i heard he was rehoming hektor and offered to help out. unfortunately i didn't see him again. However, i have just found out some devastating news, Connor passed away earlier this week. i know this is shocking news, but i was wondering if any of you know what has happened to Hektor? he was a beautiful dog and i would have been overjoyed to have been able to rehome him, but now I just really want to know what has happened to him because i have no clue. I would be very grateful for any information on how hektor is now and i'm sorry to have had to tell you all the terrible news about Connor, may he rest in peace. Amy Walker.

Hi there Amy,
I am not a malicious type... Far be it for me to speak ill of the dead, so I will hold my tongue... I am sure that Paul will guess at what passes through my mind regarding Connor! ‘Bloody convenient!’ Anyway, on a happier note, dear, dear Hektor! From what I have been told by Paul (and I am sure he will respond at some stage himself) Hektor is doing just fine after his ordeal, resilient little tyke that he is… Out of loyalty to Paul, I will not sayWHERE he is. With the state of legislature in the UK regarding the Czechoslovakian breed at present, I will not jeopardise Paul’s position. It is enough to say that Hektor is safe and well. As I am sure you already now, the breed is illegal in the UK at present, so if you haven’t already signed the petition please do so, and ask your friends and family to sign it too. All of Lynx’s puppies have been removed to safe locations until such time as they may be able to be returned to their UK owners. If ever… ***Please fight for the rights of ownership for UK Wolfdog lovers! **If the German Shepherd WOLFDOG is acceptable to the UKKC, banning the Czechoslovakian and Saarloos is a double standard! |

At 8 of februari we could read in this forum that Connor has been asked to be on the role of Chairman of the UK CzW club and that he did ask for more information about the CsW breed. And further several people offered their help.
Today I did read in the same forum that Connor died this week. And I was realy shocked about the comments about this sad fact, like: I am sure that Paul will guess at what passes through my mind regarding Connor! 'Bloody convenient!' And it seems also everybody is only worried about his dog Hector, and the petition. And like a 'by the way' you can read Connor committed suicide. I don't know what was happening in the meantime in the UK. And I realy don't want to know anymore what kind of troubles were going on, through which people are now writing things like this. No matter what has happened before, for me it is very insolent and disgusting to react like this when somebody has died (even when it was your enemy!). And maybe, maybe, you all can also realise that somebody who committed suicide is also a desperate and very ill person...... Mijke

Hi Mijke,
I am sorry if my comment regarding Conor upset you, but I stand by my original thoughts. There are reasons why this man’s memory has been tainted to people like Paul and myself, though we choose not to discuss them publicly. As Paul states, he is innocent of any recrimination against Conor. I reiterate; I am not a malicious person. Perhaps the statement was a ‘knee jerk reaction’ to the news of his death, but anger is a very powerful emotion that rules us well. Hektor’s welfare IS the priority here, and I am not ashamed to publicise this fact. Animal welfare SHOULD be a priority to ALL humans! The petition is of SERIOUS import to those of us in the UK who want to legally own wolfdog. Why should I not take every opportunity to advertise for signatures? At present, it’s the only thing I can do to help Paul with his fight against the KC, and I WANT to help him because he offered to help ME fulfil MY DREAM! Amy, this is the address for the petition: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/279438817 Please tell all you friends about it. I always try to stand up and fight for what I believe in. I am not a Christian, and therefore do not employ a double standard on the value of forgiveness and redemption. It’s profane - this constant human failing that death invariably transforms a ‘sinner’ into a ‘saint’! All is NOT forgiven simply because a life is ended. All is NOT forgotten because the cause no longer has effect! |

Hello to all UK "wuff" owners
I have just registered as a member on this excellent and most interesting site. Like June, I too purchased our boy from Eddy Harrison, who then lived near Newark, 7 years ago this August. I am trying to get in touch with Eddy - does anybody have her new address/tel no or could pass on a message? She is indeed lying low because of all this ridiculous fuss about wolf dogs - ALL dogs are wolves - genetically there is no difference, they are all the same species Canis Familiaris - but she rang me about a year or 18 months ago to say she was moving and that she would let me know of her new contact details, but that was the last I heard of her. I would just like to say that our boy is the most wonderful, beautiful, intelligent, loyal, exasperating, hole-digging, garden wrecking, carpet ruining "dog" I have ever had. He knows what I am thinking before I've barely thought it, he can understand words and sentences not just intonation. He was a wonderful father having sired a litter of 9 pups!! He keeps in regular contact with at least 3 of his litter who live locally, and loves them all and they love him. He goes everywhere with us - if our boy isn't welcome, then neither are we. We live in the depths of the country and any pub that doesn't allow dogs to our minds has no right to call itself a country pub! At our local he is more welcome than we are - and it has been pointed out is better behaved than us!! He can be amazingly obedient when he can see the point - ie in public, around sheep, cats, young children, babies, in town etc. etc. but has no truck with obedience for the sake of it just to show off. Right from 6 weeks old he is totally trustworthy with food, and will not touch anything you give him until you tell him he can. He will lie there with a juicy rib between his paws and will gaze everywhere but at the tasty morsel in order to be able to resist the temptation - you can even leave the room and he won't touch it until you tell him he can. But ask him to walk to heel, well forget it, or not to liberally goose a gorgeous blonde who has just walked into the pub - no way! He is universally loved and so is his son whom we kept as a stud fee initially, but then gave him away to farmer friends in the locality because he needed more exercise than we could give him. He ate our conservatory so had to go! He regularly comes back to stay with us and is ecstatic every time we meet. He is more obedient than his father! I'd love to hear from other wuff owners in the UK - especially if anyone can help re Eddy? Bugle |

hello everyone! I really feel for anyone who owns an illegal breed as my Czech Shepherd Akayla (thats her name) was considered illegal to recently. Akayla was given to me by a friend who rescued her from a stupid owner who was going to have her put down. She is the most wonderful dog and doesnt have a dangerous bone in her body. She is always looking out for everyone she meets even fellow dogs. I could just go on and on about her but Im sure you guys all know that owning a wolfdog is a unique experience. I am glad to say that wolfdogs are now allowed into Australia as long as the animal is five generations removed from a pure wolf. This is a better statement because the only way to work out percentage is looking at the paper work not the dog. My Akayla has about 40% wolfblood but looks like a GSD only a trained eye can tell the difference. I believe a CW dog is a breed not a hybrid so I dont understand why it would be looked at any different. ALL dogs DNA looks much the same as the wolves DNA. I mean there all that controvery over weither dogs should be classed seperately as Canis Familliarus or as just a sub species of wolf. So if thats true are they going to ban all breeds of dog or just the large breeds? Sorry I carry on so much Im just so passionate about this subject. Tell me where to sign your patition and I will.

Hi there Ligerwolve,
Thanks for your support to us UK lovers, the petition link is below. Czech Wolfdog UK http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/279438817 If only we could get a bit more support like yours, we might be able to get through to DEFRA and the KC. Gaulirmorn |

Having just joined the forum,I would like to add a few points about the banning of wolf type breeds.
There has never been a recorded case of a wolfdog or wolf hybrid attacking a person in the UK and the action of DEFRA is probably as a result of KC action and not the other way round, the KC have been trying to get the ecollar banned under the new animal welfare bill based on outdated 1996 experiments, this has now been thrown out by DEFRA and hopefully has done little for the credibilty of the KC. I dont know how many genuine wolfdogs are in the UK but I do now there are a lot of first cross hybrids and there are currently several people breeding them, yet no one wants to take any action because most are bred by undesirable groups and are too much effort to pursue. This all sounds to me like the action of ill informed people, much as the dangerous dogs act was, they banned named breeds,so what happened, those who wanted fighting dogs etc simply moved to other similar breeds, put a bunch of civil servants in charge and you end up with stupidity. Hello to everyone thought i would let you all no the czechs in the uk are doing great they live a normal life running in lush green fields an playing in our river regularly.
Both of my bitch,s are in a training club an behave very well, they both run an live with other dogs but you can see they are different in the ways that they play an think. They love to hunt, we are very lucky to have alot of land so the dogs can be as natural as any pack animal finding there own food but mainly for fun to them an a great way to exercise them. This is my first two wolfdogs an i think they are briliant can,t say i have had any problems which would cause concern they are both wonderfull. I felt brave durin the summer an did a few local dog shows they both did well i had a few 1 sts an 2nds it was nice to see how many people admired them an felt there was no reason for the kennel club to disallow the registrations. Whatever the outcome it will not stop me keeping my girls i have really enjoyed the last 9 months. pacino |
