I think there get some things mixed up, in a heriditary kinked tail the bones are not broken = fraktured but have an unphysiological form. You can get a kinked tail after a traumatic frakture but this of course is not hereditary.
Both has nothing to do with a tail that is carried not straight but with a bow in the end like in GSD. I have never seen one in TWS, it is one thing that gets controlled of a VDH official in the age of 8 weeks and would get registered if xou would find it in a dog. Ina |

Yes, this be diferent - eksterjer: J tail ( like GSD tail) and broken tail - this broken cann be when puppie born ( genetic diseas) and cann this see in this control thime ( 6-8 weeks ) but be info - dogs who have this genetic problem when be litter control have good tail, but latter in 5-8 monts hes tail be ... broken.
In Lithuania all litter have pupps control - bite, testicle, tail- this make special people who make tatoo and litter control, and to this be and club control ( see anatomy - be pupps normal or pet's class) And me important have dogs who have this broken tail when be adult. Thanks for all who have info and send me this. |

Here you have similar case described by Brussels Griffons: http://www.griffonplaza.com/Health/p...ge9/page9.html What is the problem: it is visible this deformation is heriditary. And When the deformity is limited to the tail then it has no influence on the dog’s life, he can be a happy dog. But when that happy dog is used, as a stud his “little defect” can become much more serious for his offspring. Not only to the tails but also in other parts of the spinal column. If you know any dogs with this kind of problem please inform us or the administrator. If you are breeder - please remember: puppies with kinky tails are PETS. Please do not use them for breeding. If you are breeding comittee member - please pay attention to such kind of defomarations by the puppies which you check. |

this control are very strong in GSD. ALL pupps who have kinked tail are pet and have documents " not for breed" and this go from one generation tho others. ( LKD)
example bitch have kinked tail, she are mate with male and in pedigree be inbreed III-IV born 5 pupps. from this 5 one are with broken tail but can move, others are paralised to head, not can move. Only good this be GSD litter, but WE have and CsW who have broken tail and go to breeding and theys pupps to have this kinked tail. who be later when this dog without control go to breed? we want paralised liters? or problems in vertebral column. this can saw in 7-8 weeks without problem, first is touch, later make rtg and have this this genetic broken - kinked tail and this dog are pet, not for breeding. in all case mas make rtg and when have rtg we can say this is trauma or genetic. yes, can be and trauma, but not when are pupps in 7-8 weeks, and wolfdog have very strong anatomy for broken, and when owner say " oh this is trauma only" i not very want believe in this. |

p.s. when I and others LT judge have training in ours society, ours anatomy specialist and FCI judge and breeder say " broken tail - is disqualification faults from dog show and breeding" and not important who are breed ( only breeds who have in standart this broken tail like normal tail- buldog group)
and for all this is text from ours WD http://www.wolfdog.org/nld/articles/1332.html read this, this are realy important for breeding and dog healt, and not I only make " witch hunting" with this tail. |

I think we're searching for the wrong problem, its does not looks like kinked tail or crooked at the x-ray, but a hemivertebrae.
