And where are you exactly from, maybe some common walk would be possible? (ofc. if you are not from far, far, far away )
i live at ~1100 km from st. petersburg, the same distance is from me to poland but i can give you contacts of people with wolfdogs from petersburg. and if you come next year - who knows, maybe we'll be there too (by the way, there is a big show in petersburg - 2xcacib, it usually happens in the end of june).

And referring to our dog, you are sure there isn't any extra payment for a dog for crossing the border (some kind of dog's visa )
no, fortunately dogs still can travel without visas

We also have some doubts about possibilities of getting visa for us - we' ve read that you have to have invitation from Russian citizen or you have to have some document confirming our trip from travel agency which would organize it, but we were planing a trip on our own, without any agency (but we are not sure now is it posiible at all this way)
yes, one way is to have invitation. and second way is to have booking (and confirming papers aka voucher) from any hotel in russia. and... fortunately again... i have my own travel agency here and i can make these papers for you for free, you only must ask russian consulate what exactly they need.
