Default Building a new big kennel-yard

Hello I´m building a new big kennel yard for my little baby boy Hronec

And I did think it might be fun to make a topic about it and show you photos along the way,
it also might give me a little push to finish it faster
………………................................ ..................................

The construction of the yard…

I decided to build the fence posts ( poles ) in impregnated wood, but use classic green iron fence. The poles are 70x70mm and I decided to make them 185 cm tall and buy 175cm high fence.

I put the poles in iron soil-anchor´s that I hammer down 60cm into the ground, I also cut the tops of the poles 25 degree for them to resist rain even better over the years. For some anchor I must drill holes in a smaller rock-hill to get the fence over it ( about 50 meters )…

yep, I know what I will do this summer

Here are some photos of the start…

I keep you all updated, best regards / Mikael

Default Fine fence...

Hey Mikael !

First of all I´m astonished that this time you are posting something really serious and not again some funny case, like I´m used from you ...!?

But it´s a nice idea of you to show how you are building your new kennel ! - Think it might be interesting for a lot of other wolfdog- owners here in the forum.

I see that you are working almost like a professional - and that you have a remarkable beautiful surrounding and nature at the place of your new kennel . As I already wrote in connection with food in another topic ( I´m sure you remember ), I really would like to be your dog in my next life....

The construction is ok, i think but may be 1,75 m height will be at last not enough - i have made my experiences already with my old Csw, believe me !

( About construction i can talk about a little because i´m Dipl. Ing. for Architecture in my profession.)

So you are on the right way !

Have a nice sunday and show all people here how your kennel will be build to the end by much more photos like in your last posting !

Bye, Silvester from Germany

PS: What do you say to the last two great victories of German football team??

Hi!
I have a large enclosure, the whole plot is fenced off 0.7 hectares, so the dogs can run free when I'm home. they can come into the house and go out whenever they want.
I have three smaller enclosures which are 13-25 meters in size where the dogs stay when I'm not at home.
However, I have experienced that two meters high fences are not enough.
But after I sat up all electricity around the fence and buried ground grid at the bottom so that they can not dig themselves out so everyone is kept where they belong!
These animals need space, it is good to have large areas to run on.

You can see pictures from my last "summers masterpiece" on the homepage if you are interested.

Hello again

Friday evening after work I started to put up some fence, I started whit 25 meters, but damn it’s hard to put up 175cm high fence alone...

Here are some photos, at least I´m on my way but there are 275m left to fence in.

it’s hard to se the fence (as it is green) but I guess that is the point whit having a green fence

Rolling the fence out...

Hanging the fence up

Fence is up, but not stretch yet and the poles have extra support...

I keep you all updated and show you more photos later, best regards / Mikael

My experience shows that even upper 2 metters are not enough if the dog have place to take impulse and will, I wonder whats the maximun hight of fence that wolfdogs can jump.

Hello all

I have a kennel yard now on about 140m2 whit 200cm fence, Hronec did not go over it yet, but under and through more than ones

When I work he will be in the smaller yard, but when I´m home he can very soon run in the hole yard, the size of the new big kennel yard will be 5000m2 = 0,5 hectares.

This new yard will get electricity on 10cm and 175cm high if needed, I can not build higher than 180cm whiteout building permission but I do not think he will free jump 175 cm...

I send you all more info in the end of the week

PS, Yep I’m a carpenter, DS

Best regards / Mikael
