Czechoslovakian Wolfdog was an experiment made by the army. We know origin of ALL the dogs and a Czechoslovakian Wolfdog can be called ONLY a dog who:
- comes from a crossing of GSD from DDR lines and a Carpathian Wolf (Canis Lupus Lupus)
- ALL ancestors were registered by founding of the breed club
.

It means ALL italian "Mutaras", french AWDs and finish mixes are NOT CZECHOSLOVAKIAN WOLFDOGS.

How do describe them? You suggested "WOLF MIX" but it is also NOT CORRECT. The French or Italian mixes are mixes of CsW, AWD, husky, malamute, Gsd, and nobody knows what else... You can not call them "WOLF MIXES" because usually they have more GSD blood than blood of the wold. In such case "GSD mixes" fit better.... When you see some dogs sometimes the name "Husky mixes" are even better...
Because in the fact we should call them MUTTS. They are simple common MONGRELS.
We decided not to so this only because it would be funny to have in the database "Mongrels with FCI pedigrees". It is really destroying for the credibility of FCI and the kennel clubs who registered such dogs....

Because of it we decided to call them "Saarlooos alike mixes". You know for sure that first Saarloos were registered as Wolf x GSD crosses. Later Saarloos added a blood of different breeds (nobody know what). And the other breeders were following the mixing - it is officially known that some kennels mixed Saarloos and CsW. Last time they also added the AWD blood. Because of it the Saarloos wolfhounds which we have now are mixes of many different breeds. They are exactly the same as the Mutaras or mixes by our breed. They not only look similar but in their veins flow the same mixed blood. It is why we list them as Saarloos - it is a breed which fit for them much better. Because for 100% they are NOT CZECHOSLOVAKIAN WOLFDOGS.
