I have a question concerning the CsW's ears.... [..] I've been
looking at all the sites I could find on CsW and one thing that seems
peculiar is that on a lot of them, the dogs seem to have particularly LARGE
ears. I had the impression from my reading that these dogs should have a
size between the wolf's ears and the German sheaperd's and not bigger even
then the GSD's..... is it normal?

Good question

- No, it's not normal. A CzW should have ears not longer
than 1/6th of height at withers. It means, ears lengh of a a large male (70
cm) should be 11,6 cm at the very most. The goal of the breeding is to have
wolf-ears that are not longer then 6-7cm.
Although the wolfdogs have ears smaller then GSDs (yes, yes

) - the lengh
is still a very common problem. As you can see many dogs have to long ears,
and many of them haven't, as written in the standard, the triangular form.
Here the breeders have an ideal setting in which they can demonstrate their
skills
