Dit is de rasstandaard, qua temperament en gedrag, overgenomen uit de FCI:

Dit is niet toegestaan, uit dezelfde rasstandaard van de FCI:
ELIMINATING FAULTS :
· Aggresive or overly shy.
· Discrepancy in proportions.
· Faults in deportment and temperament.
· Untypical head.
· Missing teeth (except 2 PM1 and the M 3, see § faults), irregular bite.
· Untypical shape and position of eyes.
· Untypical set-on and shape of ears.
· Dewlap.
· Strong slope in croup.
· Untypical ribcage.
· Tail untypical in set on and carriage.
· Faulty and untypical position of front legs.
· Stand-off and untypical coat.
· Colours other than those in the standard.
· Slack ligaments.
· Untypical movement.
Any dog clearly showing physical or behavioural abnormalities shall be disqualified.
Daarnaast denk ik, dat angst, terughoudenheid, wantrouwen en / of argwaan vaak op 1 hoop gegooid worden, waar het wezenlijk verschillende kenmerken zijn. En ook eenkennig wordt soms ervaren als angstig of terughoudend.
Tsjechen lijken mijns inziens nogal schrikachtig, een onverwacht geluid kan hen doen opspringen of schrikken.
Onze Ottokar is ook eenkennig (ok, vierkennig, Rosie, ikzelf en Gerard en Monique kunnen hem aanhalen :-) ), soms wordt hij ook als angstig of schuw gekenmerkt, maar diezelfde persoon, die hem buiten probeert aan te halen en waarvoor Ottokar terugdeinst, moet niet zonder toestemming van ons proberen ons huis binnen te lopen, dan staat Ottokar dreigend voor zijn of haar neus en laat hij niemand toe.
Of het het wolvenbloed is, ik weet het niet, maar ik ken geen hondenras, wat zo ontzettend alert is en wat altijd op de hoede is.
