Hello

I think you have the experience about dogs to get a CsW, therefor I think the question will bee more if you will wont one or not, best way to find out is to go to a kennel.

There is an owner (kennel) in Florida and one in Virginia

Florida >>> http://www.wolfdog.org/eng/dbase/o6772.html

Virginia >>> http://www.wolfdog.org/eng/dbase/o4598.html

Best regards / Mikael

Hi,

with wolfdog. most important is early socialization and upbringing. With that, you can have a good dog which is fine with children, communicative and friendly to people. But you have to teach it from the early age, take it into contact with different people, different situations. You have to anticipate all kinds of problems - not only shyness and aggression, but also too much enthusiasm for example. It's important to teach the puppy that it has to be careful with too small or too old humans.

For me, the best training method is positive reinforcement. You have to be firm of course, but the positive principle works much better that punishment. If you want to forbid some behavior, you need to provide alternative also. You also have to remember that wolfdogs get bored easily, they tend to understand fast, but instead of doing what you want they tend to find ways how to do what they want. So motivation is very important too.

I'm still learning as well and just wanted to say you definitely found the right place. There's tons of great information around here so if you stick around for a while and read the threads and articles (you can find links for the articles on the front page) you'll learn a lot.

Thanks Saschia for these words , I only can agree ! :)
And for me your words means also that a CsW needs a strict and an always very creative owner who likes (and can see) a lot of humor :rock_3

Exactly. One needs the humor to survive all the material for funny stories. ;-)
